Day 1 Arusha

This is the moment you've been waiting for: your Tanzanian safari starts here. You have so much to look forward to and we'll get your trip underway as soon as we give you an introduction to our team and explain what lies ahead.

You'll spend some time in Arusha, where there's always something happening. The endlessly busy streets are a fascinating performance in their own right, but the city also has clamorous markets, excellent museums and a fun food scene. Best of all, it's a window on local life that you just can't get out in the safari parks.

Activity Day 1

You will be met on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. No meals are included on this day.

Day 2

Day 2 Lake Manyara National Park

You're going to love Lake Manyara National Park because it promises experiences you just can't get elsewhere. For example, this is one of the most compact parks in Tanzania's north: the park consists of a narrow strip of forest shadowed by vast Lake Manyara on one side and the cliffs of the Rift Valley escarpment on the other. The park is known for its large elephant and baboon populations, and part of the excitement of visiting here is never quite knowing when you're going to come face-to-face with an elephant. And then there are the tree-climbing lions for which the park is famous: this is one of very few places in Africa where lions routinely climb (and spend much of their time up in) trees.

Activity Day 2

After breakfast, check out of your room by 10AM. Thereafter drive to Lake Manyara, a soda Lake lying in the Rift Valley arriving in time for Lunch and an afternoon Game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, home of the tree-climbing lions.

Kirurumu Manyara Lodge

You may want to sit on the terrace of your room at the cliff-top Kirurumu Manyara Lodge and never leave. The views out over Lake Manyara National Park and beyond are truly spectacular. The rooms are large and lovely, the staff will make you feel like one of the family, and you're well placed for visiting Lake Manyara National Park.

Day 3 & 4

Day 3 & 4 Central Serengeti National Park

It's time for you to get to know the Central Serengeti, one of the most wildlife-rich places in all of East Africa. All three big cats are commonly seen, as are many other animals, and the savannah grasslands interspersed with signature acacia trees is classic safari terrain. It can get busy, but it's a vast area where you can easily find some solitude.

After breakfast and check out depart with lunch box to Serengeti with en-route game drives.

Full Day in Serengeti National Park.

Day 5 & 6

Day 5 & 6 Karatu District

Get to know one of Tanzania's greenest areas in Karatu District, near Ngorongoro.

Activity Day 5

After breakfast and check out, drive to your lodge situated in Karatu just outside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area arriving in time for lunch and a leisurely afternoon.

Activity Day 6

On this day you will descend over 600 meters to the floor of the Ngorongoro crater for a day tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephant, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Picnic lunches will be served in the crater.

Bougainvillea Safari Lodge

Wake up to the sound of birds despite being in the busy town of Karatu. At Bougainvillea Safari Lodge you're surrounded by green gardens and palm trees, and the facilities include a swimming pool, shop and restaurant. The bungalow rooms have mosquito nets, fireplaces and plenty of space, as well as a small outdoor terrace.

Day 7

Day 7 Depart

After breakfast drive to Arusha where Lunch is included. After lunch, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure flight. Your safari in Tanzania will come to an end, bringing to a close your time in this remarkable country.
